Meetings happen in the room. The record should stay there too. A vibe-coding project built with DeepSeek and Kimi, Reco turns conversation into captions, translation, and usable notes — without handing the audio to the cloud.

A caption window has one job: be readable, and get out of the way. Original speech in large white type, translation beneath in quiet gray — you know who said what at a glance. The window stays clear of the action, never translucent, never half-hidden. Glass, used sparingly. Dark, by default. When the meeting ends, the export holds exactly what matters: the minutes.

Tauri captures the room. Python does the thinking. A local 8B model translates and summarizes; offline recognition cleans the record. No backend. No cloud dependency. What began as a personal fix became a real Mac app, then something worth sharing — and finally, open source.
